Stronger. With the highest strength to weight ratio of all known metals, titanium exists entirely in a class of its own. Capable of withstanding huge levels of mechanical and compressive stress, aerospikes are made from an enhanced titanium alloy which provides strengths of up to 141000 psi whilst remaining far lighter than steel.
Lighter. More than three times lighter than regular steel spikes and weighing less than even ceramic spikes, aerospikes take weight reduction and energy conservation to the next level. Designed with a unique internal stepped cavity system extending from the base up into the spike head itself, if you’re looking to maximise efficiency then look no further.
Optimised. Aerospikes are precision engineered with an optimised angular baseplate which flows with the spike allowing for more efficient penetration of the track all the way to the base of the shoe, a unique and dynamic design advantage which provides over ten percent more streamlined depth capability than regular spikes.
Long lasting. Made from the same titanium alloy found in high stress aerospace applications where failure is not an option, aerospikes are extremely durable and hard wearing. But that’s not all. Enhancing their capabilities even further, aerospikes are also super treated with aerospace grade (AMS) 2488 type II titanium anodizing for added toughness and abrasion resistance. Unique amongst other track and field spike systems, this specialised surface treatment also provides aerospikes with their distinctive colour… aerospace grey.
